Pseudo-Aelius Herodian, Parsings 63

   https://caesarea-maritima.org/testimonia/45

Context

Although we do not know the authorship or date of the grammatical treatise Parsings (Ἐπιμερισμοί), its language points to the late phase of scholarship at Constantinople during the 12th to 14th centuries. The manuscripts falsely attributed it to the great Greek grammarian of the High Roman Empire, Aelius Herodian, whose model it emulated in its encyclopedic format and technical scope. The work examined sound-clusters in the spelling of Byzantine Greek words. In this passage, the author cited the place name Kaisareia among other words containing the element kai.
