Unknown, Antonine Itinerary 147.1-154.5

Context

The so-called Antonine Itinerary is an important geographical source from the middle years of the Roman Empire. Like other road maps, it traces the major routes for travel by land and sea between stops at measured intervals within Imperial territory. The epithet “Antonine” identifies the Itinerary as an official document under any regime between 138 and 222 C.E. (excepting Septimius Severus), though the scholarly consensus places it in the early 3rd century, quite possibly around the time of Caracalla’s journey to Egypt; additions were made at least until the reign of Diocletian, if not after. This passage lists the distances between stops along the coast from Antioch on the Orontes to Alexandria in Egypt.
