Theodosius, The Holy Land 4.7-4.12

Context
We know almost nothing about Theodosius, who wrote an account of his
pilgrimage to the Holy Land in the first half of the 6th century, at some point between
the reigns of Anastasius and Justinian. His short narrative, which includes brief but
vivid details of geography, religion, history, and local legend, focused on Jerusalem
but extends outward into Mesopotamia, Syria, and Asia Minor. His itinerary advances west
from Jerusalem to the coast, north to Caesarea, and northeast into the Galilee.
