Theodosius, The Holy Land 4.7-4.12

   https://caesarea-maritima.org/testimonia/390

Context

We know almost nothing about Theodosius, who wrote an account of his pilgrimage to the Holy Land in the first half of the 6th century, at some point between the reigns of Anastasius and Justinian. His short narrative, which includes brief but vivid details of geography, religion, history, and local legend, focused on Jerusalem but extends outward into Mesopotamia, Syria, and Asia Minor. His itinerary advances west from Jerusalem to the coast, north to Caesarea, and northeast into the Galilee.

Translation

It is 12 miles from Diospolis to Joppa, where St. Peter brought St. Tabitha back to life; that is also where the defeated whale threw out Jonah. It is 30 miles from Joppa to Caesarea Palestinae; there lord Cornelius was baptized by lord Peter and martyred. It is 30 miles from Caesarea as far as Diocaesarea; Simon Magus was there. It is 5 miles from Diocaesarea as far as Cana in Galilee.
